Improving Transit With NextGen Technology- What The FAA Has Planned
To revitalize the technology used to monitor and improve safety while traveling, the FAA has been making monumental improvements, and are working to prove to patrons that the skies are safer than ever. directly beside the FAA’s offices in New Jersey, the 58 acre NextGen Aviation Research and Technology Park located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center is tirelessly at work, discovering methods to modernize current technology and develop new technology to improve the quality and usefulness of air transit for both private and commercial use.
Working alongside with the FAA as well as government agencies, this facility serves as a driving force for the development of the aviation industry. In June of 2010, they began work from theirnewest laboratory, the NextGen Integration and Evaluation Capability (NIEC) display area. Here, specialists use simulations to work with NextGen ideas the likes of navigation (RNAV), flying unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the national airspace system (NAS), trajectory-based operations, among others.
