3 Essential Water Ski Safety Advice
Water skiing may be similar to other forms of sled or ski sports. But the technical aspect of water skiing sets it apart from other sports. There are different sets of dangers involved on water skis. Listed here are some safety tips for anyone who wants to try this sport. It is important to understand the various water skiing dangers and safety suggestions.
1. Complete Your Team
You should never do this haphazardly or without people you trust. Each team member has a very important role to play in the success of the water skiing adventure.
The observer and the boat operator need to help the rider in every way. If more people are involved, they can take turns observing or manipulating the boat.
There is a reason for this set up. The rider should always be observed from the boat while the boat is moving. There should be someone to tell the boat operator to stop if there is something wrong with the rider. The boat driver also should not be set with the task to watch the rider. Even when the setting is the ocean, there may be buoys that need to be avoided.
2. Good Equipment
Some accidents in water skiing are not because of the lack of expertise of the boat driver and the rider. That is why water ski equipment needs to be in working condition. When there is something wrong with the boat, or any equipment, no one should go out and try water skiing. Everyone should wear a life jacket, whether he is on the boat or out in the water.
Check for rips in your clothing, and for tears in the towline. Rider equipment like foot bindings should be perfect. The boat should also be made for water sports as some boat types have large propellers that could interfere with the way the rider manipulates around on skis. Check the towline before the start of the adventure.
3. Hand Signal Training
During training, the rider, observer and driver will be trained in hand signals. If there are obstacles ahead, the driver can signal to the rider so that the latter can adjust. A dry run should be done both on dry land and on water.
After all, the more the driver and the rider practice, the better the run will be. A nervous rider can get into accidents more often. The rider needs to practie signal use as well as balancing on skis.
First-ever manned flight of an electric multicopter takes place in Germany (Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine)
By now, most readers are probably pretty familiar with quadracopters - small
hovering unmanned electric aircraft, which get their lift from a set of four
propellers. Well, make the whole thing larger, boost the number of propellers
(and accompanying motors) to 16, and you get what German aircraft developer
e-volo calls a multicopter. While the company has previously demonstrated
unmanned drones, in late October it accomplished what it claims is a world
first - a manned flight... Continue Reading First-ever manned flight of an
