I want to buy a nitro airplane with a OS .25 FP engine?
the ad on it said,"It comes with a Futaba 6 channel radio and receiver, a flight box, and a starter. The flight box and starter need a little work but the starter does operate. The plane has an OS .25 FP and new hitec servos in it."
I am a beginner to nitro RC planes so what are the flight box and starter. What kind of fuel should I use and where should I get it for under $30 for a four gallon jug of fuel.
Flight box is basically a tool box containing, your battery, starter, fuel and (fuel pump) < optional, fuel tube, glow ignitor, extra glow plugs, plug wrench, pliers and some odds and end tools you may need them miles away from home while at the field flying.10% nitro AIRPLANE fuel is what you want. The starter is a 12v motor that has a rubber cone that grips the spinner to spin the engine.25 size is small, you can start that by hand, with a screw driver by flipping the prop,COUNTER clock wise while in front of plane ONLY.If it starts, and it's spinning the wrong way,CLOCK wise, then pinch the fuel supply off till it quits.NEVER attemt to stop the prop EVER with a stick or ground or espesially your hand, even if you have a glove on,DON'T.You can also stop the engine by putting your finger tip over the hole of the exhaust pipe, known as the stinger. You can't fly anywhere you want, you have to join a club, become a member, get your AMA license and you can use the field.Unless it's your property and you have a really lot,i mean acres af tree free ground.A lot of old timers are at these clubs and really friendly, don't try to fly it alone, especially your 1st time. For 1 gallon of fuel, you're looking at close to $60,maybe a bit more or less.Depends, don't run junk, remember the crappier the fuel, the more danger of stalling in flight, you don't want that.I run Odonnell fuel and Odonnell plugs, medium heat range plugs.10% is best for planes.I'm gonna submit this and give you several links, the last link is to a really good forum, join it,go to the airplane forum,be sure you're in the right one,for nitro. Those old time piolots there are an extreme help for quik simple questions.I wrote optional fuel pump, cause you can get a fuel bulb.Pump is esier, bulb is cheaper. The links provided is where i buy everything,it's $9.99 for shipping,so if you go that route be sure you get a bunch of stuff to make the $9.99 worth it,deliverd right to your door UPS.You can email me if you want, make sure you look at the links, read them, the tech notes and what not.
