Dinner For Some New Friends
She arranged a bowl of flowers and put them in the center of the table. The dishes were set off by the soft pinks and yellows in the flower petals. A candlestick with a yellow candle sat on either side of the bowl. Standing back, she regarded the beauty of her new cherry wood dining room table set. The chair had soft cushions and the wood gleamed.
She hated to cover up the beautiful table top with the beige lace tablecloth. It had to be protected though. Linen napkins were carefully folded next to each plate. The silverware was correctly placed and a crystal water goblet was next to each table setting.
She had to be ready to receive her guests at eight o'clock that evening. She showered and came downstairs. She went into the kitchen to check the food. The meat was roasting in the oven and was nearly ready.
The rice was almost ready too. She lifted the cover of the stainless steel rice cooker to double check. She had baked a cherry cheesecake earlier that day. She was a talented baker and it looked delicious. She would serve it with three cherries on each plate.
Her outfit was carefully coordinated. Pale yellow sweater with beige slacks and heels matched perfectly. Her earrings were long and dangling to her shoulders. Her short brown hair was carefully brushed and arranged stylishly. She smiled to herself as she thought of the Emo kids who put streaks of pink and neon green in their pitch-black dyed hair. The piercings in their eyebrows and lips were horrid she thought.
Checking the house one more time, she fluffed the couch pillows. She put fresh guest towels in the powder room and clean dish towels in the kitchen. Since she had extra time, she went up and cleared off her loft bed with desk. Earlier, she piled all the clothes she decided not to wear on top of the bed. The desk was clear except for a few papers left on top of the printer. She moved those.
Finally, she hung up all the clothes she had decided not to wear earlier when she was getting dressed. She put on a bracelet as a last minute addition to her outfit. She checked her appearance in the mirror. With a satisfied smile, she turned to go back to the kitchen and make sure everything was ready. On her way, she heard them ringing the doorbell. Right on time she thought. She loved considerate people.
a baseball diamond is a sqaure 90ft on a side. the pitching rubber is located 60.5 ft from the homeplate...?
... on the line joining home plate and second base. how far is it from the piching plate to the 1st base? to 2nd base? if a pitcher faces home plate, through wat degree angle does he have to turn to face first base?
the line drawn from homeplate to the pitching plate intersects a 90 degree angle, making a 45 degree angle, thus making a 45-90-45 triangle. does this mean that the disctance from the pitching plate to 1st and 2nd base is equal? i need a little explnation for that, im getting a bit confused. thnx!!!
The best thing for you to do is to draw a diagram with the dimensions and measure the distances. It will help you understand it easier.
