Moved home this week, with the family dog I think I am more apprehensive than she is.?
Hi all, my family moved home this week. My Lab was living in the kitchen at our old house but now lives in the laundry / utility room, which leads ino the adjoining garage (it forms part of the town house). She gets double the walks that she previously had as we now live on the beach front and she loves it! my only concern is if she is too lonely. She has all her normal toys and all that she is used too, it's just the utility room gets visited less than the kitchen used to. Mind you, the kids giver her loads of play and walk time. any thoughts?
If she lived in the kitchen at your old house, why is she now relegated to the utility room, Labs are very people orientated dogs and need company, moving home will have disorientated her, and been segregated from the family will only add to the stress of a new environment. I would let her live in the kitchen as she did before, and just use the utility room after walks if she's wet and dirty, but don't make her stay in there, she'll think she's done something wrong.
My two Labs are with me constantly and would be devastated if I changed there normal routine.
