What Exactly Are Pin Up Girls And Pin Up Girl Costumes?
Pin Up Girls have for ages been popular and are known for having their pics "pinned up" in lots of places such as G.I.s lockers in the 1940s, but what exactly are they? A Pin Up Girl is a model with enormous widespread mass appeal and immense apparent feminine beauty, whose pictures are on display everywhere. Originally, their pictures were cut out of newspapers and magazines. As time continued, their pictures were mass produced for the purpose, as well as appearing on calendars and also other popular wall hangings.
They first became popular in the 1890s, a long time ago, and are still very popular. Their popularity seemed to peak in the 1940s especially throughout the years of World War II, but they have stayed favorable since then as well. Often they were famous actresses or glamour models, and quite often still are, but they are merely as likely to end up singers and other musicians currently.
Examples of popular pin up girls from the past include Betty Grable,Greta Garbo, Mae West, Ginger Rogers, Joan Crawford, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman and Ava Gardner. Modern examples would certainly include Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Cindy Margolis, Anna Nicole Smith, Masuimi Max, Heidi Van Horne, and Veronica Varlow.
Some pin ups weren't actual women, but artwork depicting idealized feminine beauty. The perfect known was the Gibson Girl portrayed sometimes somewhat satirically in pen and ink by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. There are many popular ones which are not actual women.
Costumes and also wigs of Pin Up girls were very popular for many years and are available many places. Often they've got a military style, with sailor and army styles particularly popular. Some considerations in costumes of these kinds is that some could possibly be more revealing than you are more comfortable with, and they are not warm costumes, which is suitable for indoor parties but not as much as ideal for Halloween barbecues and the like. It's important if considering one you are comfortable wearing it, and that it's appropriate to the event.
Although they're not always vintage style costumes, these are the best, and they are often chosen for theme parties concentrated on specific decades, for example the 1920, 30s, 40s, or 50s. There are really some good ones available to take into consideration, and no shortage of styles or models to take into account by any means!

‘Game of Thrones’ Teaser – Stannis Baratheon Lays Claim to the Iron Throne (slashfilm)
[1] Now this is more like it. The first teaser [2] we got for Season 2 of
HBO's Game of Thrones revealed absolutely nothing about the upcoming season,
and though we've gotten some better looks since then -- thanks to some behind-
the-scenes production videos [3] and a handful of set photos [4] -- it's great
to finally have a proper teaser with dramatic shots of the characters and
landscapes to go with the requisite ominous voiceover. Given that Season 2
will be based on A Clash of Kings, Book 2 of George R.R. Martin's A Song of
Ice and Fire series, it seems entirely appropriate that the narration in this
teaser comes from one of the men determined to win the Iron Throne for
himself: the brittle, humorless Stannis Baratheon, played by Stephen Dillane.
Watch the trailer after the jump. (Warning: Major spoilers for Season 1/Book 1
ahead.) [via Coming Soon [5]] The new teaser doesn't give away anything we
didn't already know at the end of Season 1, but I still got a kick out of
seeing Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) with his Hand of the King pin. From the look on
his ...
