How to make a water filter?
Alright, so I'm making a turbine (inside a pipe - school project). And I'm trying to figure out how to make a filter for my turbine, because I'm planning to use it on rain water.
I've researched a lot and most of the answers are the same: with sand, rocks, bottles, gravel, etc. But in my class, we have to make one that we can actually attach to the side of a building (okay, we wont be attaching the turbine I am making, but hypothetically speaking, mine would be a mini-model, and I can't have dirt in a bottle as my final design!)
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make one which looks a bit more...professional?
Thanks!
Hot-Glue a funnel, like the ones used for cooking, onto the bottom of the pipe. Then stuff some cotton balls into it. Finally, add a bottle or something to catch the filtered water. Note: it will take a while for the water to seep through, but it will be very clean.
